Edible Flowers (Squash Blossoms)

Both the male and female blossoms of summer squash varieties can be used interchangeably. If using male squash blossoms, remove the stamens first. The female blossoms are often harvested with the tiny zucchini squash still attached.  Squash Blossoms are edible raw in salads or they can be stuffed. These delicacies are extremely perishable with a shelf life of no more than two days.
